Director-Normal of the Nationwide Biosafety Administration Company (NBMA), Dr. Rufus Ebegb, has declared that the company was not created to cease genetically modified organisms (GMOs) from coming into the nation.

Ebegba spoke on Thurday whereas declaring open a one-day sensitisation workshop on biosafety in Nigeria, which was organised by NBMA in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
He stated: “The Nationwide Biosafety Administration Company was established by the NBMA Act 2015 to create and implement a regulatory framework for the follow of contemporary biotechnology and using its merchandise in Nigeria.
